OCR (Optical character recognition) is a process that takes a scanned image (typically a scanned document page) and creates editable text from it.  Publications will go through the OCR process and a complete proof reading process to ensure the OCR process was executed successfully.  Digitised publications can be upon request converted to large print books, eBraille, eBooks or DTBs or digital talking books.
