The Minister for Education announced that as part of helping parents meet the cost of educating children will receive up to $375 (for primary school) and $750 (For secondary school) students per year for eligible expenses. These expenses include for school text books and other supporting book materials, stationary, education software and computers.
Parents who do not normally lodge an income tax return can also claim the refund through the ATO. Families receiving Family Tax Benefit (Part A) and families with school children receiving Youth Allowance are eligible.
