PLP Audio Books include National Indigenous Writers
The PLP Reading Kits Indigenous titles can be used for a range of adult, teenagers and younger children with reading difficulties. Many of the titles in this section are biographical. ‘Jimmy and Pat meet the Queen' is a colourfully illustrated story about native title, and ‘Wandering Girl’ provides a close up look at the experience of the Stolen Generation.
‘The Story of the Falling Star’ is sure to appeal to everyone with its poignant story and creative illustrations. Teenage reluctant readers have had a particular interest in titles such as ‘The Backstreet Gang’ and ‘Tammy Damulkurra’ both written by groups of high school kids. The Bawoo Series is a great introduction for adults and teenagers to aboriginal ancestry whilst the Badudu Series features aboriginal children in school environments. Titles are being transferred onto CD progressively and are slightly cheaper so please inquire if you are interested in a particular title.
